MCRD MUSEUM HISTORICAL SOCIETY DOCENT PROGRAM |

The MCRD Museum Historical Society is looking for volunteers as Marine Corps history docents. The Society supports the Depot by providing recruits with Marine Corps history lectures and tours, using the Command Museum as its' focal point. Additionally, the Society also provides docent tours to military and veterans' organizations and civilian groups and individual visitors to the Museum. The docents bring Marine Corps history alive for the participants. The Museum's exhibits constitute one of the finest military displays in the nation. Recruit platoons are brought to the Museum on the 56th day of training and turned over to the docents by their DIs for a two -hour period of instruction. The docent training is provided on Wednesdays
from 9:20 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. and from 1:20 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. Prerequisites for becoming a becoming
