Our Mission Statement
The MCRD Museum Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized for educational and literary purposes as defined under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The purpose of this corporation is to promote a greater understanding of the United States Marine Corps and its significance throughout the history of our country to the general public, Marine Corps recruits, and their families. This will be effectuated by promoting understanding through study of the traditions, concepts, and lore of the Corps, its members who have served, and the role that the Marine Corps Recruit Depot has played therein.
The Foundation will provide for the display, preservation, and distribution of appropriate manuscripts, books, relics, pictures, and any other information or items pertaining to the purpose of the museum. It will also promote and provide support to private and public organizations which are committed to similar objectives.
The Foundation will promote the principles and ethos of the Marine Corps through educational programs; provide administrative support to the Command Museum in the form of equipment, supplies, and all other operational necessities; and be responsible for recruitment and training of volunteers and docents. Additionally, the Foundation will provide fundraising activities and other fiscal resources needed to accomplish the goals established by the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Among other things, such funds may be designated for acquisition, restoration, preservation, and display of artifacts, memorabilia and other items that depict the past, present and future roles of the United States Marine Corps.
The MCRD Museum Foundation was founded in 1988. The Foundation is an independent not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 public benefit corporation, incorporated by the State of California. Our mission is a passion among Marine Corps veterans and community members. Members enjoy many activities and benefits while helping to preserve the history of the Marine Corps for future generations.
The Command Museum continues to grow and improve, becoming an important asset to MCRD, current recruits in training, and to the historic past of San Diego County. The Foundation Gift Shop provides financial support for Museum exhibits through the sale of memorabilia, Platoon Graduation Photos, and Year Books. You can help preserve and perpetuate Marine Corps History by becoming a member of the MCRD Museum Foundation.
We have photos and yearbooks for MCRD San Diego graduates, ONLY. You must know your boot camp platoon number and the year you graduated when you place your order. All orders take 4-6 weeks to process and ship. Semper Fidelis!
